Artist Statement

My work examines the idea of my personal identities from the nostalgic memories of my past and my new experience of relationships with people in an unfamiliar environment through autobiographical reinterpreted notions and re-imagined objects. To show different emotional states, delicate pens or pencils and soft watercolors or oil pastels play an integral part in my work as they describe the boundary of safe and unsafe social environments and my sense of vulnerability. The aim of these works is to evoke a broad spectrum of complex and confusing emotions that help define my identities.
